Yes - for example check out:

Other un-named key members of the Colorado S-Car mafia are rumored to rely
on the device as well

Have any listers used this device? For those who don't know what it is,
it is a unit that plugs into your cigarette lighter and measures
horsepower, acceleration, g forces, braking, etc... Right now my car is
totally stock and I am working on getting it running perfectly, then the
plan is to start tweaking with chips, etc.. It sounds like this unit
would be great to have now, so that everytime I change something I can
tell if it made any difference. Make sense? Anyway, has anyone used
it?
They have a web page www.gtechpro.com, if you want more info. One
interesting note from the web site is that they talk about measuring
horsepower by entering the weight of the vehicle, then measuring 0-60
acceleration and coming up with a figure. I wonder how accurate that
would be ?
Totally not affiliated or endorsing this product, it just looks like a
neat and useful gadget
