Re: screeching 200 q when starting

Dave;

    I had a similar problem with my '91 200q 10v. On cold days (-30C), the
engine would screech something awful when first started up. It died down and
faded away in a couple of minutes as it warmed up. The sound came from the
front end of the engine. It quit after I replaced the t-belt, idler, and
water pump - in fact, the noise kind of prompted me to replace these items
since the alt belt or A/C belt did not seem to be the culprits. Could have
been the idler, could have been the water pump, but it sure was loud.
