If your sunroof was slow but wasn't making bad noises, it may be only
your switch that has problems. Mine stopped working in one direction,
only because the switch was dirty. I found that there was a large
voltage drop across the switch.

The switch can be disassembled and cleaned pretty easily. Hope that
takes care of your problem.
