The Audi quattro transmission has three output shafts. One each
on each side going to the front wheels (just like the FWD Audis),
and then one going out the rear to the rear differential.

No transfer case in an Audi. The center differential is built-in
to the transmission itself. A real nice and elegant, low friction,
compact design.
