RE: Eurovan 2.5L available?

Just out of curiosity Gerry, what price did you find for a 2.5 / 2.6 engine
"...off the pallet."

By "off the pallet" are you talking about:
(a) a complete new engine (i.e. long block, fly wheel thru the heads and ??
intake and exhaust manifold); or
(b) a short block - in this case how complete? Block only? Or through
Cylinder head? One or more manifolds?
(c) Perhaps used, and if used, how used and how complete?

Finally, have you figured out where to get one?
Thanks

Mike P.

I agree that the MC engine can be acquired for probably way less money than
the 2.5/2.6 engine, especially a new 2.5/2.6 engine versus a wrecking yard
sourced MC. But if the 2.5/2.6 is a "bolt-in" taking a couple of weekends,
versus many weeks of custom fabrication and fitting for the MC, or the
$6000+ that some of the specialty shops are quoting for a turnkey
installation, then I would think that the 2.5/2.6 would end up costing less.
And that doesn't even include the cost of rebuilding the MC to bring it up
to the "new engine" condition that the one would get with a 2.5/2.6 off the
pallet. Maybe my information is incorrect, or not complete, but that is the
reason for my question in the first place.

Gerry
