was cambelt/lifter noise solution
My experience with tappet noise: really f'n annoying.
Solution: over fill the crankcase with motor oil. My experience with the
Porsche 944 Turbo's were that the factory fill amount was a might low for
high performance. Most people who know run 6 quarts in the case+the
galleys. I now use six quarts in my 5kt. "No new lifter noises". All the
old ones gone. On occasion, I may hear some on cold start up, but soon
disappears. Engine feels like it runs better and I have not seen any
negative effects from this amount of oil.
I saw the dipstick was full, but noise. I slowly poured a bottle of oil
until I was at about 5.5 crancase quarts total. Noise disappeared.
