Re: JE Pistons finally arrive :-)

Not sure what motor your building up here, but just thought I'd mention that
Total Seal piston rings don't work well with turbo applications.
ex-listmember Chad Clark used them on a freshly rebuilt motor in his
modified 5ktq and was tearing it all apart again a few months later to go
back to stock piston rings. No problems since!

Not sure if you can use stock rings if you have custom JE Pistons (very nice
BTW), but if you increased bore, you may have to go with something else.
Just thought I'd mention what I've heard about Total Seal rings and you may
want to find a set that has a reccomended usage with turbocharged systems.
Not sure if they'll work with your pistons, but I've heard if you want to go
all out, the AudiSport titanium piston rings are the way to go. Not sure if
the sizes are available for your app, but you have the sizes now, so worth a
look see. Shop around! Talk to racing supply shops like Pegasus or some VW
turners as they may be able to help.
