OK, Peter,
I replaced the flap door spring myself and you didn't need to take the glove
box out. (The reason was, I didn't know how to take it off, :-))
Take the black plastic grill from under and you will see the door. Its most
likely open now.
When inside, see if you can find the spring. If you can, then you might be
able to repair it and use it again. Also see if the bar(its plastic, there
is a techie term for it, but it eludes me now) is broken. If its ok, then
your in good shape. Also you might want to take out the leaves and dirty
inside with a Vac. Its pretty messy in there.
Here is the tricky part. You need to hook the spring from what looks like a
"H" to the bottem door. I used a pair of plyers. As soon as you hook it on,
let the door go and it should close. Replace the 2 screws and your back in
business.
I guess other people on the list have a different approach to it, but here is
the Dummies Guide to it. :-)
