Ohio Rally 99

Howdy List,
Last weekend was the QCUSA time speed distance rally which started in Upper
Sandusky Ohio (east of Findlay) and ran southeast to Zanesville and back.
Total of @ 350 miles of some of the most scenic roads in SE Ohio. The area
traveled was somewhat mountainous (by eastern standards) so there were a lot
of roller coaster twisty roads. They were also very lightly traveled and in
great shape. The rallymaster, Phil Smith, did a great job as we had to 'keep
the speed up' (of course within legal limits)to arrive at the checkpoints at
the correct time. Allowed for some rather spirited driving. We had 12 cars
this year, A4's, Avants, and a 200tq. I chose to drive my MGA as my 4k is
still box stock and rather dowdy. Phil Winteregg of White-Allen Audi in
Dayton brought an S4 for all of us to oogle, and drive. Very nice. This is
the 2nd year for the event and I've attended both. Placed third last year,
not so lucky this year.
If you live within 250mi or so of central Ohio, I would highly recommend
this event. It's a great driving event and you get the added benefit of
meeting some great Quattro fans.
Usual disclaimers apply, your results may vary.
