Problems with Autobahn Performance (MA)?????? long....
A few months ago, I ordered brake pads
(super-killer-graphite-metallic-carbon) from TAP. They cost 125$, but they
were supposed to be the shit. In any event, they sent me the pads (Marked
Refron, or something) labeled Audi 100.
I did not panic, yet.
When my mechanic went to install them (with the Ate Powerstop Rotors, too
cool.) he called and said that they didn;t fit with the rotors - too much
pad. They did fit the calipers, though. He thought that they were for a fwd
4000.
I did not panic, yet.
I went with Pagid pads, (readily available, cheap, and they work well, though
lots of dust.) and called TAP who were surprised to hear that a Coupe GT and
a fwd 4000 had different brakes. No problem, though, sorry and send them
back for a refund.
Though concerned that TAP didn't know Audi's any better than my local Napa, I
did not panic, yet.
I sent the pads back to Fla. I insured them, and got the confrimation of
delivery package. I got screwed once, learned my lesson. Few days later,
Autobahn Performance calls me. Weird, I thought.
They're the distributor, the guy explains. No problem. He doesn't have a
slip, wants to know when I bought the pads. I tell him, give him the invoice
number, total, and everything else I have. He tells me he'll call back. No
problem.
I did not panic, yet.
I paniced, however, when he called me back and informed me that they had
already reemburced my credit card. Unfortunatly for both parties, I did not
pay by credit card. Further, I do not have a credit card. Baffled, he tells
me he'll call back.
Now I'm concerned, and I don't have either the pads or the money, although I
have recipts for both.
Any ideas?
Later!
