VAG software emulator review
Hi All,
I don't have the original post on this, so I'm replying to a reply by Phil
Payne. The serial interface on this product may not be capable of handling
"turbo" clock speeds. Try either (1) switching to the lower ISA buss speed,
usually 8 - 12 MHz, if the machine allows it by hot keying, or, (2)
configure the BIOS, at startup, to startup at the lower clock speed, usually
clearing a selection to start at high speed. Since I recall that the
machine in question is a 486 processor, it probably will allow both of
these. I have some older serial interface systems, like an X10 household
device controller, that simply won't run at higher clock speeds because it
was designed for legacy machines. Also, you might take a look at the
configuration of the serial port to which it is attached; the X10 mentioned
requires a blazing rate of 300 bps. And, while you're at it play around
with the other parameters in the serial port config, particularly flow
control, XonXoff, Hardware. Maybe there's a clue in it somewhere.
If I had it, I could make it work.... but I don't have a subject to practice
on...
HTH.
Cheers!
Jim Jordan
