Re: [88 Q90]--ECM?
Actually this has happened to my 80 before. It was before I replaced
the Idle Valve. The idle valve was sticking and misbehaving. When this
happened, twice in heavy traffic, the car stalled out and refused to start
again. It took some gas pedal pumping and a little luck to get the 80
started again. Once I got started there was a _nasty_ odor of some sort,
not gas, not coolant, just really stinky. I noticed that during the periods
of stalling the idle would sometimes get really high, if I hit the ISV with
a wrench the idle went back to normal. I cleaned the ISV and the condition
improved but didn't go away.
Good Luck!
