NEED HELP...glove box removal on 200
I am doing some big time work on my car over the next few days while I'm off
from work. I am replacing all wood trim in the dash and I'm also installing
a CD player in my 89 200TQ. To replace the wood trim requires removal of
the glovebox. I took out every bolt except the center upper holding it in
place. You have to open the glovebox to access it and room is tight. I got
all other (there are like 9 or 10 bolts holding it in place...overkill
again!) bolts off with ease but this one was tight and I stripped it getting
it out. Oh yea, it's an allen bolt, so I can't find anything to get in
there and grip!
HELP! How do I get it out! If I could get the lower part of the glovebox
out I could probably drill or cut it out, but I can't really do anything
with the glovebox in the way.
There are three little torque bolts on the side which hold it in the tracks
and I've removed two of them. The other is too hard for my tools to reach
and I'm still not sure how to get out the other side. Any help would be
GREATLY appreciated!!!
Happy thanksgiving everyone. I just wish mine were going better so far.
I've been cursing at the bolt for a good 2 hours now. It looks like I'll be
repairing broken wires in the passenger door again tomorow too! The joys of
Audi ownership.
