High Alt performance / Headlight bulbs
I'll be driving my 90 CQ back from LA to NYC and was wondering if anyone
knew a way to improve the high altitude performance of the car. Heading out
to LA, west of Denver, the power started to wane with increasing alt. to the
point, at the continental divide - almost 12,000 ft. that I had to keep the
pedal depressed about halfway just to keep the engine from dying. Any ideas?
I want to drive to N.M for some skiing and will be high again - not that
kind of high. Also, I just bought some new headlight bulbs - 70/80 W power.
Anyone have any experience with these? I have not yet done anything to the
wires and hope they will just "plug and play."
Thanks,
Jeff
