Re: tapping threads on oil in/out on a kkk turbo?

How much metal is there in between the oil openings on the top and bottom
of the turbo before reaching something like a water passage? Thought it
would be a lot easier to just tap some threads into the housing and get a
male to male adapter much like how the coolant lines are hooked
up. Anyone care to offer up thougts on this?

That sounds like a great idea Marc, and I have seen it done on other
turbos too. I have never actually seen it done on a K 24/26, but I would
reason that if the current ID of the hole could be tapped, there would not be
any worries. Have you done any measuring to see if the ID would need to be
enlarged for a given size? I am sure there is plenty of meat there to tap
the current ID. If not, maybe someone has a trashed bearing section they
would like to breifly donate to a little testing? (to be returned after said
testing)
