Hi,

At 50 mph (80.4 kph) in 6th gear the US Spec A6 2.7t manual turns at 2000 RPM. The transmission is geared really short. With six speeds I'm surprised that they don't make 6 a little taller, it's not like you really need it that tight with the wide torque band of the engine.

Does anyone know what the corresponding top gear numbers are for the US A6 2.7t automatic, and for the European versions of the car?
