Re: warm air intake hose
If this is the non turbo quattro, there is indeed a metal plate that bolts
to the exhaust manifold support bolts. It's been so long since I've seen
(and worked on the em) on a non turbo that I can't even remember right. If
you can acquire a Haynes 84-88 5000 manual, the em removal section has a
good picture of your manifold with the "plate". It should be a pretty sad
and rusty piece by now.
