How long should the switch LED's stay illuminated after the car is off?

This past weekend, I did the infamous door lock repair on my '89 100Q (don't ask, it's
done, but I don't want to talk about it).  While I had the door apart, I attempted to
correctly wire the window switches in the drivers door.  The PO had a couple of them wired
backwards (i.e.-the window went down when the switch was pressed in the "up" direction). 
I'm now wondering if I messed something up.  The switch LED's seem to be on all the time,
and after sitting for a few days, the battery was too drained to start the car. Any wisdom
would be greatly appreciated.
