(3A) 16V ECU Project

It doesn't look like it will work without adjusting the fuel system
components. I had it working very well today, but on the last test run the
car stalled 4 times and I hit maximum retard on the timing, set off the ECS
light and the engine lost all power. If I was able to set the timing at
6BTDC or earlier then the ECU would work, but if the timing is set earlier
than 4-5BTDC the idle go nuts. I would think that is a matter of adjusting
the ISV and other components to match the setup. The 8V ECU has more low
end torque, but the 16V ECU has a faster top end for sure. With the 8V ECU
I can get some off the line wheelspin yet the 16V ECU has none whatsoever.
So the 16V ECU in an 8V CIS-Motronic car doesn't seem to be so hot, worth a
try I guess, now we know and knowing is half the battle.

Thanks!
