Subframe Bushings for 83 Coupe GT

I have discovered that the subfame bushing are in need of replacement. Before 
I simply replace them with OEM or the aftermarket equivalent I am curious if 
there are other bushings available that will provide a significant 
improvement in handling. 

When warm weather returns I will be replacing the shocks all around. I am 
seekikng recommendations from fellow listers. I am also seeking information 
on how to determine if the springs also need to be replaced. This car has 
149k miles showing on the odo.
