Clay is Cool !!!

Hey there fellow anal retentive car buffs (buffers).

I just used a great product that revitalized the paint on my new ride. The
new (to me) '91 90 had a huge amount of white paint overspray on it (from a
house painting I assume). It was really rough to the touch, even the windows
had it and it also had a ton of tar all over the lower panels (welcome to New
England).

So I thought I would try out detailers clay on the paint to see if it really
would remove the overspray. Holy paint cleaning quatfolks!!!! This stuff took
off all the impurities on the paint and even removed all the tar as well. I
could not believe it.

It was a lot of work but since you only need to do it once every billion
miles or so figure this is more than worth it. I used Mothers Clay California
Clay Bar System that I got at Lappens for about $17. It includes the clay, a
lubricant (got to have that to keep it from scratching) and a pretty good
carnuba wax. This was the best $17 and 5 hours I have ever spent on a car.

I also put in the 8" Bazooka powered subwoofer today. I love these things.
This is the second one I have owned and think it is a great way to upgrade
the sound in a car. Plus if you can set it up to just unplug and remove
whenever you are going to the airport to pickup the inlaws (and their
luggage). Also used some good leather conditioner on the seats and now they
are like gloves and whole cars smells like a leather factory....love that
smell.

PS Special thanks to my wife for putting up with the lack of me all weekend
and for putting up with the rear seats in the house while I buffed and
scrubbed :)
