RE: 4kcsq 5 cylinder: Interference or not?



All the NA 5cyl engines I have seen are non-interference.
The turbo motors do interfere.
The Audi turbo uses lower compression pistons, which would indicate more
clearance between piston top and valve face.  The opposite is true.  The
pistons are deep dished with high sides.  High enough to bend most of the
valves upon timing belt failure.

These are my observations, some addendum's may apply...
