Hmm ... the Porsche guys I know claim 350hp is about the reliable limit for 
the Type 016 tranny used in the 944 turbo and they likewise cite 1st and 2nd 
gears as the problem ones.  Sounds like it's about the same for the AWD 
version.

If you do -- and it's affordable, unlike the $7k Quaife gearset -- then count
