Re: 89 200 Speaker removal.... the answer



Actually, they are TRUE 3.5" speakers.  When you buy an aftermarket set of
3.5" speakers, they are really 3" speakers desighned to also fit in a 3.5"
enclosure.  They fit fine, but ARE smaller.  But, compare it to a 4"
speaker!  The OEM speakers are definately smaller than a 4".  It would be a
hard fit, but you _can_ (with a lot of determination) fit a 4" speaker up
front in the 200.

I agree with you though.  The only good location for speakers in that car
are in the doors.  Do a nice component set.  Too bad I have to cut holes in
the door panels, but oh well, small price to pay for good sound.  But, like
you, these 3.5" (well, 3") will work fine in the meantime.
