RE: brakes/rotors

Lori,
	Your right.  If your not riding the breakes then there is
something wrong.  A few questions to get us all more inof on this.  ( or
is the problem fixed yet???, I havent seen many replies to this)  
1) is the wear rate the same on both sides of the car or is jsut one side
wearing fast???  
	2) is the pad wear even or is oen end much more worn.  If the pad
is wearing un-even then you might have a sticking caliper that is only
depressing right on one side and causing this abnormal wear .
	or, you could have a caliper sticking in the in position alwasy
rubbing building heat and cassuing premature wear.  
	I'm not real familiar with ABs so I spose that culd do somethign
but I wont attemt lookinga t that.    BUT..if you ahve new calipers then
they should not be sticking.  Unless they were somehow faulty.  If the
wear is only on one side of the car I'd suspect a caliper problem.  But if
both sides are even then either the ABs, your foot, or the Brake system is
keeping the brakes applied a litle while driving.  Make sure your not
riding the brake, make sure the floormat or somehting isnt catching
it.  And then maybe a Brake master cyl that isnt releasing all the way
could maybe cause this.  Just speculating but that gives you some
ideas.  Let mek now (us know) what you find.

	Where are you located, maybe a lister could recommend a favorite
shop that might have better luck than where you have been going.  And
cheaper than the dealer. :-)

I am driving a 1994 audi 100 S.  In the past
12 months I have worn thru 4 sets of front
rotors.  Even for a girl I know something is
wrong!  I have replaced the calipers once and
the rotors and brake pads 3 times.

I phoned the Audi dealership and nobody seems
to know what is wrong.  Does anyone have
any information about this.  I really need to get to
the root of the problem or I will be replaceing rotors
quarterly!  Which I'm sure you know is quite expensive!
