Center console - how does it go together?

I can't find a good picture of it in the Bentley manual.  I'm referring to
the gauge cluster/ashtray/shift boot part.  I can see little tabs toward the
front of the car/console where they slip in and the screw for the rear part
by the shifter, but how does it attach to the upper console?

The 5th and 6th picture down at:

shows the gap.

Any help would be great
