tranny swap

howdy all.  i just got my new tranny - brand new in the skid for $455!  i
love ebay.  anyway, i now have the task of installing it at hand.  here are
my questions:

1.  does anybody want to buy a quattro tranny, perfectly good except for
third gear?  would also trade. here is my wishlist:
                            -1 pair of fog light lenses for 1990 80q
                            - lower grille for 80q
                            -  good cv joints for 80q
                            - set of lifters/valve cover gasket

2.  are there any potentially tricky aspects of a tranny job that i should
look out for?  all i have is the POS haynes manual (new tranny ate my
bentley money) which makes any job seem like an oil change, so tips are
greatly appreciated.

3.  i am going to take this opportunity to overhaul my shifter linkage.
does anybody know of a way to short shift an 80q?
