Re: SS EM Studs

There never will be a consus on this. :-)

No seriously. I'm not sure. Some people think adding the support
bracket to the WG like the 2-piece unit has helps. But you still have the
weight of the turbo out front to deal with. Personally I'll get mine
Ceramic coated. But more for under hood temp regulation than Em
longevity. Know many people that coat them with no problems. But some
listers will say not to do it. I dont know enought about velocity changes
in Exhaust gasses to consider that but doubt in the cruddy designed Audi
manifold it makes that much difference. But what do I know. I'm no
Engineer. :-)
Anyhow, I'm coating mine myself. With the techline coating. Not
sure of Web address, its on other computer but company is Tech line and
the product is Sati Black I think. And I'll use the Cermachrome for my
intake to keep heat OUT of it. Look at my Web site for a pic of an MC
conversion that had this done in the guys garage.

and

for my turbo and main pages. Get rid of the picts part for the main turbo
page but its GREATLy lacking in info right now. Need to get around to
changing that. AFTER my 4ktq is finished. Sorry,no pics of it scanned
in there yet.

Exxxxxcellent...This should come in handy with all of the studs I just
bought from Rod @ TPC...Damnit, I should have waited. Oh well, they can
be
backups...What IS the appropriate way to go about protecting the EM while
having it look good? "Jet Hot"?
There never seemed to be a consensus on this...
