My 200TQW IA I is totalled
Got bad news from the body shop, will be confirmed by the insurance company
adjuster Monday.
While it did not look terrible to me, the body shop pointed out how that
when the tree pushed in the rear, the entire body behind the rear wheel
wells was pulled down and a little to the right. A close look at the rear
door gaps shows the full story :-(.
(1) I don't know what the insurance co will say about salvage value, but if
anyone is seriously interested, let me know. Besides the usual, it has the
IA Stage I ecu mod and wastegate spring ( max1.8 bar indicated), about 8 k
miles on D60A2s, and a full new set of pads and ATE powerdisks disks (front)
from Jim Blau installed within the year. Original BBS wheels, pearlescent
white paint, etc.
(2) It it goes to salvage, and someone wants to send me their ecu and
spring, I could swap out the IA kit for you. The insurance co knows that it
runs, so I can't just take it out before it gets picked up. E-mail me.
(3) Unless the salvage cost is incredibly low (as a motivator), I don't see
parting it out myself- I don't have the time.
(4) I'm looking for leads on a replacement: either a '91TQW or an S6 wagon.
Clean, never hit, etc. If anyone sees anything in your neighborhood, let me
know. Prefer east of the Missippi, but not hard over on it for the right
car. Maybe a V8....
