RE: SS EM Studs



I wonder if the OE studs are too strong, as in they don't have any give to
them. They snap instead of giving a little. 
I have done a lot of turbo and NA manifolds and they seemed to work pretty
well after they warped once and were resurfaced. I always replaced all the
studs and they did not seem to come back leaking again. But since it has
been a few years (5-6) since I did many of them the additional age may have
raised the failure rate significantly or the ones I did at the dealership
did not come back to the dealer when they failed again. I guess when I get
my turbo engine in the 4kq I'll get to experience it first hand. I'll
probable go with the OE parts since I can buy them wholesale.

		Presumably not much.  My experience has been that the stud
will break before
		stripping out the head.  Now if Fred is right and the ss is
weaker I cannot
		see ANY reason to convert.  It has not been my experience
that rusty studs
		have been the problem.
