I met a guy who had an ur-q that broke some studs who contacted me for info
on replacement. This was a couple years ago when there really wasn't much
info out on the 2-piece replacement and the problems there are fitting it on
the WX so that was my recommendation. He told me that he was involved with
a factory rally team in the '80s (no, not Audi ... you should see his
_other_ car :) and so he really was a stickler for researching the details.
He bought the new style studs that Audi now sells and two or three other
studs that he got from other sources ... I'm sorry I don't have details,
this was a discussion in the parking lot at work ... but supposedly one of
the manufacturers was supposed to be the best available. After the hardness
and tensile testing was done he found that the Audi studs were the best ...
and that is what he used.
