Re: Crash Test Results for Older Audis, and a Dodge Colt

Well, i have a couple stories to tell you:

Accident 1: My car: 1985 coupe gt, their car: ?? yr Ford Bronco. I was
making a right turn onto a major street and didnt see anyone coming. I
proceded to pull out, doing about 5 mph, and started turning, when
suddenly my car was hit hard just in front of my door, throwing me 15
feet foward and then another 10 feet sideways into a sidestreet. The
bronco crossed over the median and ended up going a block in the wrong
direction...fortunately, no one was coming the other way.... She was
going about 45 mph at a time when schools dictated that she should be
going 25...she says she never saw me...uh huh... Car was completely
driveable...door a little hard to open and close...not too much so...but
i was perfectly fine, no bruises at all...

Accident 2: Made a sharp right turn (same coupe gt) and was going down a
slight hill. You can either go straight at the intersection coming up,
right, or left, and there are cars coming up from the left and from
ahead....no stopsigns. As i was goign down the hill intending to go
straight, coming around a blind turn, there is a late 80's acura Integra.
She doesnt stop, and i try to, but the city drilled holes in the asphalt
to drain water off of the hill nearby and ended up flowing across the
street. My tires locked immediately and i slid into her at about 15 mph
or so..if that. Her whole door caved in bad, i just had a little tear in
the front bumper, a slight bulge in the front fender and the headlight
bracket was bent...but the headlight didnt crack. No injuries at
all...sued the city...still pending..hehe

Accident 3: 1985 4000 Quattro. Many of you on the list may remember
this one. I was driving up a major highway in the bay area, 280, and
there was a TORRENTIAL downpour. Everyone slowed to about 20mph and then
we came out of it. We all sped up, but what we didnt know was that there
was a very thick layer of water on the road still. We were going about
55, no rain, but wet when someone cut in front of me. I tapped my brakes
slightly going around a bend, and the tail came out. I almost completely
got it, but then the car went off the drivers side of the road and hit a
slick of mud and went right into the center divider wall at a 40 degree
angle or so at about 50 mph. I wasnt bruised at all...Car was basically
driveable except for a bent rear strut housing on the driver's side..

Now in the UrQ im able to avoid everything now that i have the power to
keep up with the handling..hehe...that and about 15 hours of track time
under my belt sure doesnt hurt....

later...
