Alan,

You need to unscrew those little caps on the plugs before you put on the
plug wires!  That's why they aren't fitting.  You don't need them on that
car.  They are needed to fit on some, but not our Audis (as far as I know).

I always remove them and plug wires will fit fine!  BTW, I used the Beru
plug wires from Blau last time and they are really nice!  I just got the
whole shabang Tune Up Kit for $90 or whatever.  Not a bad deal.

Also, not a bad idea to throw a little dielectric grease on the contacts
before plugging up the new wires, especially with winter here.
