Michelins were an adequate set of tires. The new 5000's are GREAT. The car
now handles much more positively, both wet and dry.

Here in the Mid-Atlantic area, we've just gone through two days of the
Deluge. Driving from DC to Philadelphia and back really gave the tires a
chance to get broken in. Wet Traction is greatly improved, the 5000's shed
water extremely well and did not aquaplane at any speed I ran, up to 80 mph.
In the dry, I could stomp on the accelerator in 3rd and get the MXV4's to
break traction. The 5000's just hook up and pull.

I guess the above puts me in the "boy racer" category somebody mentioned. If
any of you have gone from the stock Goodyear GodAwfuls to the MXV4, you'll
remember how much more positive and assured the car felt making that
improvement in rubber. The move to the SP5000's feels like it's as big an
improvement.
