Thunderhill Track Event, January 15-16, 2000

I mentioned it in passing in a post yesterday, but I did want to more
prominently note that there is a track event sponsored by QCUSA that is
scheduled to occur on the weekend of 15-16 January at the Thunderhill Park
raceway. The event is being organized by the Bennett brothers, you can call
them at (530) 758-7325, or QCUSA HQ in Minnesota for more information.
Thunderhill Park is quite a ways into "the sticks" of Northern California,
but that makes it possible to have a real "driver's" track. While OTE's are
discouraged, there is a lot of run-off room on most parts of the track. The
QCUSA program is a 2-day event, but depending upon sign-ups it may be
possible to sign up for one day or the other (call the Bennetts for more
info on that). Last year only the eastern half of the track was open on
Saturday, with the entire track open on Sunday. There is also going to be
an instructor's school held on Friday the 14th. I haven't checked with Ted
Fisher lately, but I know that he was working to have some "fun" cars [not
necessarily all Audis] available for laps around the track. If anyone is
interested in that last item let me know and I'll try to get more info from
Ted.
