As Phil pointed out, you'll need the solid lifter style valves-they are
longer. You may also need new keepers & upper retainers (single groove & 3
groove parts don't interchange). The lifters do drop right in, you'll need
the solid cam as well-base circle increases from 1.375'' to 1.500 on solid
heads. It seems like the profile of the head around the lifters is slightly
different, I remember the lifter being not as well supported but it should
no be a problem. Drake Engineering used to sell a kit for the VW 8v engines,
the same applies to the Audis.
