88 90Q FOR SALE

Hi, everyone...

I must sell my Audi. I love the car, but the cost of maintaining is, at
least right now, simply too great.

Here's a quick rundown of what it needs and its general condition. If
you're interested and want more specifics, send me e-mail.

1988 Quattro 90, black
5-speed manual
5-sylinder
Leather, ABS, heated seats, heated outside mirrors, rear defroster,
sun/moonroof
--> Located in Oak Hill, West Virginia, USA

Broken:
Auto-check system (works with pushbutton, not when car is started)
ABS system (veers sharply, activates early; brakes fine when switched off)
Right front turn signal housing (more on this below)
Right rear taillight
Central locking (works from inside)

Overall condition:
Body: Rough; the car was hit recently in the right rear. Bumper cover
needs replacement, but trunk lid can be repaired. "Minor" damage only,
nothing
structural. It was hit at some time in the right front, resulting in damage
to the headlight adjuster (replaced) and the turn signal mounting points
(hence the missing lamp housing). At some time in the car's past, it
suffered a fairly major collision, which was not properly repaired. (E-mail
for details.) The entire top surface of the car has faded, and the entire
car needs painted. Side moldings are pulling loose, and don't match
side-to-side. One has been taken off, which I have.

Interior: In surprisingly good shape, but the leather on both front
seatbacks is poor; the driver's seat is torn in the usual place. Fake wood
on dash is cracked.

Mechanical: It runs like a dream, but has an oil leak which is probably the
front seal. There's a small radiator leak which requires topping off the
coolant about every week. The AC condenser leaks, too. AC belt is missing.
Quattro system works.

Electrical: Other than the autocheck system, nothing that I know of. The
radio was miswired before I got the car, but so far as I know I fixed that
mess.

The car quit on me a month or so ago, but a bottle of gas drier seems to
have fixed the problem. I can't offer any guarantees, obviously. It
hasn't happened since, and I drive the car every day.

What I've done:

New strut inserts, new drive shafts (front only), new brakes and e-brake
cables, wheel bearings (front only), belts. Except for oil changes and the
like, I have all repair and parts receipts.

The car is driven daily, and I wouldn't be afraid to take it anywhere I
wanted to go.

Okay, that's all I can think of immediately. I won't refuse any reasonable
offer for the car, so if you're interested, reply to:

Thanks for your time, and happy holidays!
