12v v6- lag on part throttle

My 93, 80 2.6 v6 quattro seems to have this annoying problem...

1. when the engine is cold (regardless of the actual weather)  it stalls
once then 
when I restart it is fine.

2. It hesitates until full throttle is applied.  However, once warmed up
then the hesitation becomes more of a 'lag'.  In that nothing much happens
for the first part of throttle pressing...

Hope someone can help me resolve this....

It would be great if you would email me back directly as I am new
