Audi K-Jetronic ISV Current Measuring Lead
General
This lead allows the current through the idle stabilisation valve to be routed through an ammeter during MB/MC2 engine setup and tuning
ISV current must be set to the equivalent of 430mA during MB/MC-2 engine setup:
- The ISV circuit is sensitive to disconnection - if the circuit is broken, the ignition must be recycled to restart it
- The engine cannot be set up "by ear" - the ISV controller uses 470mA specifically as an error signal
- With most ammeters, switching the current range breaks the circuit and stops the ISV from operating
- The control current is actually a pulse width modulated 60Hz square wave - the ammeter must be capable of integrating over 0.5 seconds or greater
