General
This is a simple lead connecting a nine-volt battery across the idle stabilisation valve
- The ISV is delicate internally (surface mounted rubber ring seal) and should not be prodded with implements
- Some ISVs react badly to the full 12V of a car battery - it lets the smoke out
- A PP9 battery has a high internal resistance and cannot damage the valve
- As well as allowing simple testing (press the button and blow through the valve) it also allows operation of the valve while immersed in a cleaning solution
