ur-quattro 20V - Engine Removal and Refitting

When refitting the engine the following points should be observed in the reverse order of removal:

Check that the sleeves for aligning the engine are gearbox are present
Self-locking nuts must always be renewed
Check that the clutch plates are centred
All gaskets and seals must be renewed
Clean the gearbox drive splines and apply a thin coating of G 000 001
Ensure the coolant manifold bracket is not trapped between engine and gearbox
The new O-ring for the right-angled coolant pipe on the engine block must be inserted in the hole, not pulled over the end of the pipe.
The loom for the multifunction switch, thermoswitch and oil pressure sender must be laid forwards under the ignition leads, between the heater valve and the AKF-valve, under the distributor and between the crankcase ventilation hose and coolant manifold.
