Tom
When are you coming back in and for what work? If you come to me I'll
write it up and pay close attention to what is looked at.
I can also offer to meet you there on a Saturday and try another BPV and
check some hoses. I'm assuming they tested the BPV. They either work or
they don't. They are an open and shut device, they hold vacuum or they
don't. But there are some hoses that can do what you describe. We could
also hook up my separate boost gauge and see what the vac. and boost reall
is. A bad valve can reduce boost too. Fact is there are many reasons for
a car to stall.
The other frustration for you and us is that it doesn't always do it does
it? I could put in a BPV and check/replace some hoses, drive the car and
declare it fixed. Then it stalls on you again. Next step? Replace the ISC
at the back of the intake? Check for faults and maybe get one? Maybe the
ISC is all gunked up and needs to be cleaned out or the idle switch is
flakey. Nothing is harder to fix than an intermittant problem and the
problem may never throw a fault code.
. As an owner you'd want a price to fix it and it could be one part or
several parts. So what is the price? Dunno.
So I guess you have an appointment to return. Let me know if you want to
do a saturday check over.
Neil
