[200q20v] Wheel bearing?

I will be replacing my front wheel bearings soon and have a friend that has
a 8 or 10 ton floor press.  
Will this have sufficient force to do the job?

Also, I noticed the outer cv boots are starting to show signs of
age/cracking.  The inner boots still look pretty good.  Thought I might go
ahead and replace them before they split.  Is it possible to change the
outer boot without disturbing the inner boot?  

Please: no more "if it ain't broke..." comments.
