Folks who've described similar high-temp situations and front brake lock-up
have reported the fix was a new brake master cylinder. Someone on the
various Q-lists (I'm addicted to three) suggested recently that the alloy
MC warps with engine compartment heat and the piston inside can't retract
like it should to release hydraulic pressure on the calipers. A test might
be to carry a water bottle, and the next time you encounter this behavior,
try spraying the MC with the water. If it begins to work again, you've
diagnosed the trouble.
