I have a story about bent rods on my 3B
Running IA Stage V claimed for 420 Hp messured to 370 Hp with a Garrett T04/50 turbo,
RS2 Injectors and MAF, IA chips and 3 Bar boostsensor.
IA Manifold
The 370 were at 6000 rpm because I run into overboost due to a
chip error? 470 NM @ 3900
Well
I had former run NOS on a K24 with the above setup except for the
turbo with mecanical wg-spring load 2.4 Bar Abs and estimated 300 Hp.
+ NOS 125 Hp runs just fine and faster than the Garrett alone.
After remounting the Garrett after a failure I reduced the WG-load
to 2.2 Bar and estimated 320 Hp
(bigger turbo less thermical waste)
First time running NOS 125 Hp I had
a) a misfire stretching out the MM-hose and moving the IC
1" forvard and the explosion opened the IC and made a melting of the
grill from the innnerside.
b) oil are dripping out above/back the crossmember.
The flames blow out again by the speedwind (150 Km/h) when it happens.
I cant tell what came first - bending a rod or the backfire -
(So now i bought an Urq 83 with WR engine to use for race and have to restore
my 20Vq Avant)
