fuel pump question

I've got one question, with the key to run should I see voltage to the wire harness connector on top of the fuel pump access door. I get voltage to the 2 wires that work with the gauge sender, but, nothing to the 2 wires that connect to the fuel pump [green/yellow and brown]. Bentley has a means of checking using a remote on/off, removing the fuel pump relay...... but, it seems to me there should be power to the connector with the key to run. The fuel pump fuse is good.
