[Biturbos4] Synthetic oil and coking?

I don't believe that full synthetic motor oils use a petrochemical base.
The synthetics _blends_ certainly do have a conventional base but full
synthetics such as Mobil 1 and Amsoil do not.

I have a video clip around here somewhere from the 2001 S-Car Nationals in
Colorado in which Jim Latour of Turbocharger Engineering Corp. of Golden, CO
talks specifically about synthetic oils and turbos. I'll see if I can't
find it somewhere and post it on the site.

Contrary to what the name suggests, synthetic lubricants aren't made from
miracle
unobtanium in the lab -- they're still made from petrochemical base stocks.
As such, I
have to assume that they're still vulnerable to high-temperature breakdown
and 'failure'
with coking probably included -- it just takes place at higher temperatures
than with
'conventional' oils.
