I know most dealers sub out any warranty work involving upholstery. That said, it's just careful removal and re installation of the cover. Sometimes steam is used, but don't ask me how.
The factory says that to remove the seat, you need a plug to ensure the airbag doesn't deploy. I have one of the plugs, but I've heard others doing it without. Otherwise, there is nothing special to remove the seat.

Subject: [Biturbos4] Seat heater repair
Anyone have any experience replacing/repairing an '01 S4 seat heater? My S4's driver side heater is only heating in one tiny area in the back anymore. Actually my '01 A6 biturbo also has a similar problem, with the added 'bonus' of a frighteningly hot spot.
I found this article on AudiWorld, and step 3 seems to be reasonably applicable, but don't know quite how well it applies to our stock S4 seats since it was written by an A4 owner with non-power seats.

Any B5 S4-specific info on a good online place to order the necessary part(s) nowadays and procedure/personal experience would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve
