You might want to try 'sparking plug'.
Babelfish has done a good job, especially in preserving the sublety
of 'Risse' vs. 'Anrisse'. 'Incipient cracks' is quite a good
translation for a machine, and I'm impressed. 'Zuendkerzengewinde'
is 'spark plug threads'. It got 'leicht' slightly wrong in the context.
I'm not so sure about 'Ventil' becoming 'clapper'. Obviously it's
'valve', from the same common word roots as 'vent'.
