Actually, most companies never used ProCon-Ten...they used a much
more simplistic system. A shotgun-shell sized pyrotechnic charge
tightens the belt.

My car's procon-ten cable was removed from the transmission, and
neatly tie-wrapped up and out of the way; useless in a crash. My
mechanic, doing a clutch job, made sure the cable was reinstalled
properly.

I suspect that in a large number of cars with procon-ten, the last
mechanic to do a clutch job did the owner a "favor" or just simply
forgot to replace the cable. I strongly recommend you remind your
mechanic to inspect the cable and make sure it is -properly-
reinstalled(the whole thing is covered in the Bently.)
